Sport Program Coordinator

Join our small team and contribute to improving the lives of people living with physical disabilities through adaptive sports and with the help of hundreds of dedicated volunteers. 

 

Description

 

  • If you have experience in managing daily operations of any project and would like to work and do sports at the same time, this job might be for you! 

  • He or she would be supported by other team members to help ensure all programs run smoothly. 

  • The Program Coordinator plays an important role in our foundation. He or she needs to be passionate about sports and, most of all, must sincerely believe that everyone deserves an equal chance to practice sports despite their physical limitations. 

  • The Program Coordinator has to have strong social and public relations skills as well as strong writing skills in both French and English. 

 

Role and responsibilities

 

  • Develop and implement communication strategies.

  • Draw up and implement volunteer recruiting plans.

  • Provide content for newsletters, social media, website, etc. 

  • Regularly feed the Facebook page and other social media with new content;

  • Maintain good relationship with all of our strategic partners.

  • Support the team in the organization and coordination of various fundraising events such as our golf tournament.

  • Provide proper information to our volunteers and participants.

  • Prepare application documents and oversees all participants’ registration.

  • Support strategic planning.

  • Develop and implement a volunteer retention/appreciation program.

  • Manage our day-to-day programs. 

  • Maintains activity records in a timely manner before, during and after activities.

  • Maintains participation statistics records and the Instructor’s Competence records in a timely manner.

  • Provide necessary information to instructors on each participant to ensure safe and effective activities.

  • Manage lesson scheduling, volunteer availability and coordinate the pairing of volunteers and students. 

  • Comply with the Adaptive Sports Foundation’s safety and health policies and procedures.

  • Be an on-site staff contact at Adaptive Sports Foundation Winter and Summer activities and programs when needed: skiing, waterskiing, kayaking, special events and outings, and outreach events, and others as needed. 

  • Keep inventory records.

  • Maintains a flexible work schedule to meet the various demands of ASF’s operations. 

  • Participate fully as a member of the Adaptive Sports Foundation staff team; attend staff meetings.

  • Map out annual training plans for new volunteers and returning.

  • Use known methods and stay up to date on new training clinics and techniques.

  • Help design any educational materials.

  • Determine the impact of training on volunteers (ex. Surveys, mid-season questionnaires, Shadowing) 

 

 

Profile

 

Skills and Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor's Degree (preferred)

  • Relevant experience related to the functions

  • Excellent communication skills in French and English, both orally and in writing

  • Functional knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite

  • Knowledge of Donorperfect, Quickbooks, Canvas and Wix (an asset) 

  • Strong interest in sports

Conditions

 

  • Full-time, Permanent

  • Flexible hours, especially during our Alpine and Waterskiing seasons

  • To start as soon as possible

  • Salary to be discussed according to the experience
